How to Install Hand Held Shower Heads

Are you inexperienced when it comes to doing handyman tasks around your home? Well you'll be pleased to know that installing a flexible, handheld shower head is a rather simple project that can be performed even by novice do-it-yourselfers. Besides the benefits of upgrading your shower hardware, installing a hand-held shower head makes cleaning and maintaining your shower much more flexible. The installation can be done in a matter of 10 minutes or less.

Begin removal of your existing showerhead by using an adjustable wrench. Set your previous showerhead aside. Make sure to clean any buildup of residue on the showerhead threads by wetting them with vinegar. Wipe any residue from the surface and dry it with a paper towel. Now let the threads dry over a period of 15 to 20 minutes. Grab a hand-held hose attachment and read it over the outlet pipe threads. Slowly screw the hose in place over the Teflon coated threads. Make sure to tighten the attachment until it is snug but do not force things and make it extra tight.

Adjust the attachment into position so the wall mount can be placed in order for the shower had to be used as a regular shower. This will most likely be equal in height to your old showerhead.

Distribute the water resistant glue on the back side of the wall Mount bracket, making sure it's distributed evenly and place it in the selected position on the wall. Secure the bracket in place with duct tape or masking tape until glue dries. Allow the glue to dry for at least 24 to 36 hours. Now simply use the flexible showerhead is a hand-held shower head by snapping up from the wall-mounted bracket as needed.
